Mary

Mary is an inspiring and engaging leader with over 20 years’ experience in leading large teams. She has extensive experience in the retail and voluntary sectors and delivered several large change management projects. Mary is a CIPD qualified HRD practitioner with a real passion for people development.  Mary worked in retail for 18 years for a major supermarket group, she progressed though the business from a part time colleague to a Store Manager of large supermarkets, as well as working as a HR Manager within the business.

For the past 3 years Mary has taken on the role of Service Leadership and Capability Manager, successfully delivering a large cultural change programme to the entire retail business focussing on leadership and customer experience.

Mary has always led highly engaged teams, achieving this by being passionate about my teams and ensuring she understands their needs.  Her excellent interpersonal and communication skills allow Mary to influence across all levels.

During the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Mary successfully undertook an 18 month secondment to the organising committee, as the Staffing Manager for the Olympic Park. She  lead a team of over 2000 contractors and volunteers and delivered a safe and secure environment ensuring that visitors to the games had their ‘once in a lifetime’ experience. Mary achieved this by ensuring that all her team were exceptionally well trained and personally ensured they all received great communication every day so they felt equipped to complete their roles, giving them the freedom to be themselves and have fun.
